Step 1: Heat and Remove the Screen 🔥

Power the phone off completely.

Place the phone on the heating pad for around ten minutes. This softens the adhesive and makes the next step far less stressful.

Use a blade or thin metal tool to create a small gap at the edge of the display. Once you have a gap, drip a little alcohol inside to weaken the glue further.

Switch to a plastic pick and slowly slide it around the frame. If you feel resistance, add more alcohol and keep moving. Avoid inserting the pick too deeply to prevent cutting internal cables.

If your screen is already cracked, you can be less gentle. If it’s still intact and you want to reuse it, slow and steady wins.

Step 2: Disconnect and Remove the Old Screen ⚙️

Once the adhesive is fully cut, open the screen from the right side. The flex cable on the left is short and easy to damage.

Before disconnecting the screen connector, remove the metal shield covering it. Use a blade carefully and keep well clear of the battery. Damaging the battery can cause a fire faster than you’d expect.

Disconnect the BTB connector using a plastic spudger and set the screen aside.

Connect the new screen’s BTB connector. You can leave the metal shield off for now.

Plug the phone into power and boot it up. Check display quality and touch response before sealing anything. If something isn’t working, now is the time to fix it.

Step 4: Seal and Reassemble ✅

Once testing is successful, apply a thin, even line of black adhesive around the frame.

Press the screen firmly into place. Use clamps or rubber bands to maintain pressure for one to two hours while the adhesive cures.
