Moto Edge 50 Pro Screen Replacement Tutorial: Keep the Mid-Frame 🔧📱

Replacing a cracked or broken screen can be stressful—but with the right tools and steps, your Moto Edge 50 Pro can look as good as new. Today, we’re keeping the original mid-frame and replacing the full screen assembly. Let’s dive in!

Tools 

• Polar Tech Magic Self-Heating Pad 

• Polar Tech Phone Repair Toolkit (Isopropyl alcohol ,Metal shim, Plastic pry card, Tweezers, Spudger, Precision screwdriver set)

• Double-sided adhesive tape

Step 1: Heating & Removing the Back Cover 

1. Start by heating the back cover for about 10 minutes using the self-heating pad. This softens the adhesive.

2. Carefully use a blade or metal thin sheet to create a small gap.

3. Drip a bit of alcohol into the gap to weaken the glue.

4. Insert a plastic pry tool and slide it around the edges. Use a little more alcohol if it’s stubborn.

Tip: Don’t rush—broken glass can cut your fingers. Safety first!

5. Once the back is off, remove the motherboard cover (10 screws). You can use a pry tool or blade. No need to remove the small board bracket unless you’re unsure about the screen flex cable location.

Step 2: Removing the Battery & Testing the New Screen 

1. The screen flex cable is located under the battery. Carefully disconnect it.

2. To remove the battery, apply alcohol under it to weaken the adhesive and gently lift it with a metal pry tool.

3. Before fully installing the new screen, it’s wise to test it. Connect the BTB cable and reinstall the battery to check display and touch functionality.

Tip: Testing the screen before final assembly avoids a lot of headaches later.

Step 3: Screen & Mid-Frame Separation 

1. Remove all protective films from the new screen, including the black protective layer. Protect the camera with the removed film while working.

2. Separate the broken screen from the mid-frame. Since this screen is completely useless, we can be a bit rough—but watch your hands!

3. Remove residual adhesive from the mid-frame. Check for any dents or bends.

Tip: If there’s a dent, trim it carefully with pliers to ensure the new screen fits snugly. A misfit screen is more likely to crack.

4. Apply double-sided tape and a layer of T-7000 glue to the mid-frame. Fit the screen in place and press lightly.

5. Run a thin line of black glue around the edges for dust protection and a clean finish.

Step 4: Reassembly & Final Touches 

1. Reinstall all other components and tighten screws gradually. Power on the phone before securing all screws to confirm everything works.

2. Clean residual glue from the back cover and apply double-sided tape with T-7000 glue for extra strength.

3. Press the back cover firmly and clean the phone thoroughly.

Congratulations! Your Moto Edge 50 Pro is now fully functional and looks as good as new.
