Google Pixel 7 Pro Battery Replacement – Step‑by‑Step Guide

Replacing the battery on a Google Pixel 7 Pro isn’t the fastest job, but it’s very doable if you take your time.

🔥 Step 1: Heat and Remove the Screen

Start by powering the phone off completely. The Pixel 7 Pro opens from the display side, so the first job is softening the screen adhesive.

Heat the screen evenly for around ten minutes using a heating pad. Once warm, use a thin blade or metal shim to create a small gap at the edge. Add a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to weaken the glue.

When the gap opens up, switch to a plastic pick and slowly work around the frame. Add more alcohol whenever the adhesive resists. Don’t insert tools too deep, as flex cables sit close to the edge.

Open the screen from the right side. The display cable on the left is short and easy to damage if pulled the wrong way.

Before disconnecting the display, remove the small metal shield covering the screen connector. Lift it gently and avoid touching the battery underneath.

Disconnect the screen BTB and place the display somewhere safe.

Next, remove the screws holding the LCD frame and mainboard bracket using a T3 screwdriver. Keep all screws organised on a magnetic mat. Carefully lift the LCD frame, as it will be reused.

Once the mainboard bracket is removed, disconnect the battery BTB. The battery pull tabs aren’t very effective on this model, so apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to loosen the adhesive.

Gently pry the battery from the side until it comes free.

After removing the old battery, clean away any remaining adhesive. Apply fresh double‑sided tape to the battery area.

Place the new battery into position and press it down evenly. Reconnect the battery BTB.

Reinstall the mainboard bracket and make sure the pressure plate near the charging port is refitted correctly. Tighten all screws securely, but don’t overdo it.

✅ Step 4: Test and Re‑seal the Screen

Before sealing the phone, reconnect the screen BTB and briefly power the device on to confirm everything works. If the phone boots to the home screen, you’re good to continue.

Power the phone off again. Remove old adhesive from the frame and apply a clean, even line of T7000 around the edges.

Press the screen back into place firmly. Use clamps or rubber bands to hold pressure for one to two hours while the adhesive cures.

Once set, power on the phone for a final check.
