Nothing Phone (2) Battery Replacement Guide
The Nothing Phone (2) stands out with its transparent back and signature LED lighting.
It looks amazing, but it also means you need to be extra careful during repairs.
In this guide, we’ll walk through how to safely replace the battery step by step, without damaging the LED system or flex cables.
🧰 Tools You’ll Need
-
Polar Tech Magic Self-Heating Pad
- Polar Tech Phone Repair Toolkit (Isopropyl alcohol ,Metal shim, Plastic pry card, Tweezers, Spudger, Precision screwdriver set)
🔧 Step 1: Heat and Remove the Back Cover 🔥
Start by powering the phone off.
Heat the back cover using a self-heating pad for about 10 minutes.
This softens the adhesive and makes opening much easier.
Use a thin blade to create a small gap, then drip a little alcohol into the seam.
Insert a plastic card and slide it around the edges to release the back cover.
If the phone has been opened before, this step will feel surprisingly easy.
🔧 Step 2: Remove the Internal Components 🧩
Once the back cover is off, remove the decorative screws using a T5 screwdriver.
There are seven screws holding the LED decorative panel.
Carefully lift the LED panel.
There are flex cables underneath, so slow and steady wins this race.
Remove the hidden screws around the camera ring and disconnect the BTB connectors.
Then disconnect the main FPC cable.
Lift the wireless charging coil assembly and remove the top loudspeaker.
Disconnect the remaining BTB connectors and remove the motherboard bracket.
🔧 Step 3: Replace the Battery 🔋
Disconnect the battery connector first.
Because the battery was already heated earlier, removal is much easier.
Use a metal pry tool from the side and gently lift the battery out.
Place the new battery into position and make sure it sits flat before reconnecting.
🔧 Step 4: Reassemble and Test ✅
Reinstall all components in reverse order.
Reconnect the motherboard bracket, loudspeaker, wireless charging coil, and LED panels.
Once everything is secured, plug the phone in and power it on.
Test:
-
Display
-
Touch response
-
Signature LED lighting
If all three work, the repair is complete.
📝 Final Notes
-
The LED back uses multiple flex cables. Rushing here can cause damage.
-
Heating is key. It makes both back cover and battery removal much safer.
-
Take photos during disassembly to make reassembly easier.
That’s it.
A clean battery replacement on the Nothing Phone (2), with all the lights still shining.
If you’re running a repair shop or doing DIY repairs, this method keeps things safe, tidy, and stress-free.
