Samsung Galaxy A20 Teardown Guide (Full Disassembly)

Today we are performing a full teardown of the Samsung Galaxy A20.

In this guide, we will power the device down, apply controlled heat to remove the plastic back cover, and then proceed step by step through the internal components until the phone is fully dismantled.

🧰 Tools You’ll Need

• Polar Tech Magic Self-Heating Pad 

• Polar Tech Phone Repair Toolkit (Isopropyl alcohol ,Metal shim, Plastic pry card, Tweezers, Spudger, Precision screwdriver set)

🔧 Step 1: Heat and Remove the Back Cover

Power the device off first. Always.

Heat the back cover for around 10 minutes using a heating pad. This softens the adhesive and makes separation much safer.

Insert a thin metal blade to create a small gap. Add a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to weaken the glue. Once the gap is wide enough, switch to a plastic pick and slide it around the edges.

The rear cover is plastic, so it’s more forgiving than glass. Still, patience beats force every time.

🔧 Step 2: Remove the Internal Components

Unscrew all 13 screws securing the mid-frame.

Remove the SIM tray first.
Then carefully unclip the mid-frame starting near the SIM slot.

Watch the fingerprint flex cable — disconnect it before fully lifting the frame.

Now disconnect:

• Battery connector

• Motherboard flex

• Display flex

Remove the two coaxial cables.
Take out the charging sub-board.
Remove the signal board connected to the white coax.

Everything is modular and fairly accessible at this stage.

🔧 Step 3: Remove the Motherboard and Battery

Remove the front camera first. There’s one screw securing part of the motherboard.

Lift out the motherboard carefully.
If the rear camera module sticks, apply gentle heat.

Now for the battery.

Heat it slightly to soften the adhesive.
Use a thin metal pry tool from the side.

If it resists, stop and apply more heat.
This battery tends to be stubborn — and swollen batteries don’t forgive impatience.

Eventually, it will release.

🔧 Step 4: Final Parts Removal and Inspection

Remove the earpiece speaker.
Don’t forget the vibration motor.

At this point, the screen assembly will be completely bare.

Lay out all components neatly — it’s always satisfying seeing the “family photo” of parts. A phone that once streamed videos is now a collection of logic, metal and adhesive.
