The Galaxy S20 Plus is a tightly sealed device, which means getting inside requires the right approach, proper tools, and a bit of patience.
If your screen is showing lines, chances are you’ll need a screen replacement — and that means going through a full teardown like this.
The good part? Once you understand the structure, repairs like screen or battery replacement become much more manageable.
The tricky part? Strong adhesive and fragile glass don’t leave much room for mistakes 😅
Let’s walk through the teardown step by step.
🧰 Tools You’ll Need

- Polar Tech Phone Repair Toolkit (Isopropyl alcohol ,Metal shim, Plastic pry card, Tweezers, Spudger, Precision screwdriver set)
🔥 Step 1: Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Start by powering off the device completely.
Apply heat to the back cover for about 10 minutes. This softens the adhesive and makes removal much safer.
Use a thin metal tool to create a small gap, then switch to a plastic pick.
Add a few drops of alcohol to help weaken the glue, and slowly slide around the edges.

Reapply alcohol if resistance increases

Avoid bending the glass
Once done properly, the back cover should lift off cleanly.
🔧 Step 2: Remove Internal Components
Inside, you’ll find a well-organised but compact layout.
Remove all 15 screws, then lift the shielding plate.
Disconnect the battery first — always cut power before anything else.
Then continue disconnecting:

Wireless charging flex

Mainboard and interconnect cables

Signal and antenna connections
Remove the loudspeaker module and lower charging board.
💡 Tip: Keep screws organised — they may look identical, but mixing them up can cause issues later.
⚙️ Step 3: Remove Mainboard & Battery
Take out the SIM tray before lifting the mainboard.
Disconnect all remaining flex cables, including:

Front camera

Rear camera modules (ultra-wide, wide, telephoto, depth)

Button flex
Carefully lift the mainboard from the earpiece side.
For the battery, apply heat again to soften the adhesive underneath.
Use a flat metal tool and work slowly from both sides.

Once loosened, the battery should come out smoothly.
🔄 Step 4: Final Parts & Reassembly
With the battery out, remove the remaining components:
